Key Planning Considerations

🍺

Alcohol Service

Food, beverages, and especially alcohol increase restroom usage by 30–40%. Don't skip it for bar events, weddings, or festivals with beverage vendors.

Event Duration

A 2-hour ceremony needs far fewer units than an all-day block party. For events running longer than 8 hours, ask us about mid-event servicing — it can reduce the total unit count significantly.

ADA Accessibility

At minimum, one ADA-compliant unit is recommended for every public event. For larger events, plan for roughly 1 ADA unit per 20 standard units. ADA units are larger — plan placement accordingly.

📍

Placement & Access

Units should be within 200 feet of all activity areas. Place them on level ground in shaded spots where possible. Ensure a clear path for our delivery truck to drop off and service each unit safely.

Tips by Event Type

Weddings & Private Parties

Guests at formal events have higher expectations for restroom quality and cleanliness. Space units discreetly — tucked behind tent walls or decorative screening — and post clear directional signage. Consider a freshening schedule: units should be checked and restocked at least once during events over 4 hours. For smaller intimate gatherings, our standard units are more than sufficient; for upscale receptions, ask about deluxe options.

Festivals & Outdoor Concerts

High-attendance events need both more units and more frequent attention. Cluster units in rows of 4–8 near food vendors, stage entry points, and parking lot exits. For multi-day events, commit to daily servicing. Well-lit, clearly marked restroom stations reduce crowd confusion and back-up lines. Our calculator adds an extra buffer for fair and festival event types for exactly this reason.

Sporting Events

Restroom demand spikes at halftime, between innings, and immediately after an event ends. Plan for 15–20% more units than the baseline calculator suggests to handle these surges. If food stands or concessions are on-site, treat the event the same as one serving alcohol for usage estimation purposes.

Construction Sites

OSHA 1926.51 requires at minimum one toilet facility for every 20 workers on a job site for shifts over 3 hours. Most companies find 1 unit per 10 workers is the practical standard. For sites running extended shifts (10–12 hours), our calculator scales up the requirement. Weekly servicing is the most common plan; sites with tighter schedules or larger crews often choose twice-weekly for better hygiene conditions.
